Poderi Boscarelli (Тuscany)

Poderi Boscarelli

Boscarelli is a small company initiated in 1962 by Paola Ferrari and her husband Ippolito De Ferrari who wanted to renew traditional taste and flavor of Vino Nobile.

Story of Boscarelli is similar to stories of many wineries in Tuscany: the company was acquired by a family from the north fascinated at picturesque landscape. De Ferrari owns 11 ha of vineyards in   Montepulciano planted during the last 60 years at heights of 250 to 350 meters above sea level.  Here they grow such varieties of vine as Sangiovese, Canaiolo and Mammolo which are used for production of the main company’s wine Nobile di Montepulciano, excellent Chianti Colli Senesi, and Boscarelli table wine in the best years. In cellars they use classic technologies, and only quite recently some barriques appeared nest to traditional Slavonia oak barrels. As a rule, wines of this company have great potential (especially Boscarelli and Nobile Reserva) and can be aged over a long period of time.

Paola di Ferrari is assisted by her two sons, Luca and Nicolo, in her effort to be ahead of the game. She is distinguished by extravagance in wine making, for example, when it is referred to early harvesting. They personally control 18 ha of vineyards situated on Cervognano hill, the best for Vino Nobile production. The Boscarelli have been and remain among the best creators of Vino Nobile.
